Chom Thong

Chom Thong stretches along the western bank of the Chao Phraya, south of Thon Buri proper. The district takes its name from the golden spire (chom thong) of its principal temple. As Bangkok expands westward, Chom Thong has absorbed development pressure while maintaining a more suburban character than its northern neighbors.

The Dao Khanong expressway interchange brings traffic through the district, while Rama II Road to the south connects to Bang Khun Thian and eventually the coast. Residential developments mix with older communities, temples, and small-scale commerce.
