Din Daeng

Din Daeng sits at a crucial junction between Bangkok's old city and its northeastern expansion. The district's name means "red earth," reflecting the laterite soil that once characterized the area. Today, it's a dense urban zone dominated by high-rise public housing and private condominiums.

The Din Daeng Flats are Thailand's most recognizable public housing project — blocks of social housing that have defined the district's image for decades. Beyond the housing estates, the area includes government offices, schools, and commercial districts along Ratchadaphisek Road.
